It’s a duck tale DIY! A knick-knack duck tale.
I found a duck.
He looked like a duck from the ’70s or ’80s and probably lived many years in a country kitchen. Now, he was cast off to Goodwill, which is where I found him.
I wouldn’t say it was love at first sight, but I saw the potential.
With a little updating, I thought I could give him a new life…and so I embarked on an easy thrift store redo!
This is my duck tale but you might have nesting birds, a turtle, a fish, people, a tree, or any knick-knack that catches your eye.

Duck Tale DIY Directions
Step 1: Clean Your Knick-Knack
I used a little rubbing alcohol and a paper towel to just clean any dust, grease, or grime that might have been left on the duck.
Step 2: Paint
Once it dried, I used the multi-surface paint, with a sponge brush and did 3-4 coats. The beach and feet needed a little more coverage than the rest of the body.
Step 3: Tie a Ribbon on It
Once it dried, I tied a simple red ribbon around the neck and…VIOLA!
That is an accent piece I would have sitting around my house!
That’s it! I told you it was easy!
Now, go out and find yourself a knick-knack to makeover!
Have fun with it! I’d LOVE to see what you make! Be sure to share it over on my Craft Klatch Facebook Group! It’s Free! ❤️
