After accidentally spray-painting my stairs, deck, and even concrete, I needed an inexpensive and easy solution. That’s when I discovered a simple trick using foam boards from Dollar Tree.

This DIY spray booth isn’t permanent, but it’s surprisingly durable and does a great job containing the mess.

Plus, it only costs $5 to make!

Step 1: Build the Booth

Tape three foam board sheets together along their long edges to create the back and sides of the spray booth.

Step 2: Cut Pieces

Cutting foam board

Cut two smaller pieces for the top and bottom, and tape them in place.

The result is an open-front box that’s perfect for containing overspray while keeping your workspace clean.

  1. I made one similar to this using a cardboard box but it was really dark inside. I like your idea of using white board. I also put a cheap lazy susan in mine to make it easier to spray paint items! Love your blog!!
