* I want to tell you about my coaster mold. I searched far and wide for a good coaster mold, that was deep enough for me to put stuff in. I ended up creating my own, with an egg shaper and it worked pretty well. Recently, I found a silicone pan, online, and it was the perfect size and silicone and had made my life sooooo much easier!!
Directions:
1. Prepare you resin, according to the package directions.
2. Pour a thin layer of resin in the bottom of the mold
3. Add your Gummy Bears
4. Add additional resin until they are all covered
5. Allow to sit for at least 12 hours before unmolding
That’s it! Now you have a fun new accessory! The Gummy Bears do lose some of their features in the resin, so just a warning!
Thanks for stopping by! Happy Crafting!

I wonder if you sealed the gummy bears, before you put them in the resin they would hold their shape? Just a thought!! Also, I have always heard not to use a flame to pop the bubbles on silicone molds. I heard it would take the shine away from the mold. I haven’t had any trouble when I use the flame. But I always heard that after time it will make your resin dull. I don’t know. Just passing on what I was told.
Hi Christina – I don’t think the gummy bears melted. I think they visually just lost their definition because they are somewhat clear. The same thing happened when I used gems/jewels. The facets didn’t show up. You can see what I mean here: https://www.craftklatch.com/how-to-make-flower-jewel-coaster-craft/
I hadn’t heard about a flame making the silicone mold dull. I guess it’s certainly possible. Thanks for the tip!
