How to Make a Snowflake Directions
Step 1: Create the Snowflake Shape
Lay a piece of parchment paper on your work surface. Hot glue won’t stick to parchment paper.
Then, arrange the tees into a symmetrical snowflake pattern. It will take eight evenly spaced golf tees, with the points meeting in the middle.
Let your heat gun get nice and warm and then apply a generous dollop of glue to the center, where the tees meet. Allow the hot glue to harden and the flip it over and repeat it on the other side. Doing both sides helps add stability.
Step 2: Paint the Snowflake
Spray paint or use acrylic paint to cover the entire snowflake ornament with a base coat. I chose white but you could probably do a light blue for a more icy feel.
Allow the paint to dry completely before moving on to the next step.
Step 3: Add a Hanging Look
Cut a length of fishing line and fold it in half to create a loop.
Secure the ends with a knot and add a small amount of glue to one of the golf tees and press the knotted end of the fishing line into the hot glue.
Allow it to cool and harden.
Step 4: Add Glitter
Working over a glitter tray or a piece of paper, use a paintbrush to apply white glue or Mod Podge to one side of the snowflake.
Sprinkly chunky white glitter offer the glued surface. Shake off any excess glitter and put it back into the glitter container.
Allow the glittered side to dry completely, then flip the snowflake over and repeat the glue and glitter application on the other side.
Step 5: Hang and Enjoy!
Now you know how to make a snowflake ornament and you can hang it on your tree, in a window or wherever you’d like to add holiday charm!
