I don’t sew. I come from a long line of sewers, but it didn’t seem to trickle down to me. This project can be sewn, but for all you non-sewers out there, like me, this project is for you!
You will need:
– Fabric – I used fleece, it’s soft and easy to work with
– Hot glue
– Scissors
– Stuffing (fiberfill)
Here is the video tutorial:
Directions:
1. Take your base fabric, in my case I used blue. Fold it double and trace a base onto it with pencil. I freehanded it and you can too!
2. Cut it out. Because the fabric is double, you should have two identical pieces.
3. Do the same with the top of the cupcake, in whatever fabric yo choose. For tips, see the video above.
4. Cut two circles out of the red fleece.
5. With your glue gun, hot glue the base to the top and let cool.
6. Glue the two pieces of the cherry together and let cool.
7. Take the two cupcake halves and have the parts you want to have on the outside, when the pillow is finished, and put them down facing each other.
8. Take your hot glue and glue the two pieces together. NOTE: You want to leave an open slit at the bottom and an open slit at the top. The bottom will be to turn it inside out and stuff it. The small slit at the top is to add your cherry.
9. Take your cherry pieces and hot glue them together, leaving a slit open on the bottom.
10. When cool, turn the cupcake pieces inside out. When cool, do the same for the cherry.
11. Put stuffing into the cherry.
12. Glue the cherry into the open slit at the top. Make sure you completely glue the pieces together and there are not holes.
13. Stuff the cupcake. TIP: Before you stuff the cupcake, make sure you take your finger and push out all the corners and edges.
14. When adequately stuffed, glue the bottom shut.
For more tips and the demonstration, be sure to watch the video above.
Now you have a fun and plush pillow for your bed, couch, dorm room, or wherever!
Love this cupcake and it's low cal too 🙂 Pinning! We have added a page to link up blogs that have tutes, free patterns, diy, etc. – would it be ok to add your tutorial page to our list? You have some great tutes there!
