Here is the video tutorial:
Directions:
1. Have some stir sticks handy and dip them into the Pebeo paints. I just dripped them all over the canvas. I used any blues, purples and white I had on hand. I went back and forth hoping to get a watery ocean feel.
2. Take your stir sticks and move the paint around some, so you don’t have any blank areas and they blend together.
3. Allow to dry.
4. Print your clipart out – I did it on card stock, using a laser printer. Then I took a black permanent marker went along the edge of the clipart, so it didn’t have any white edges.
5. Using your super gloss Mod Podge, paint it all over the canvas and then on the back of the clipart. Position the clipart on the canvas, rub gently to make sure it adheres. Then, brush more Mod Podge all over everything.
6. Mix sand and Mod Podge. This will make your sand dark, so I add glitter to brighten it back up. Then apply it to the bottom the canvas, so it looks like the ocean floor.
7. Take small shells and add them to the sand. The Mod Podge is still wet, so they should stick just fine.
8. Then drip a little Mod Podge over each shell, so they are coated and will stay in place. Sprinkle a little fine white glitter over each shell and the sand.
9. Take blue fine glitter and mix with Mod Podge. With a toothpick apply it to the water, blending with the blue areas.
10. Take fine white glitter mixed with Mod Podge and with a toothpick, apply it around the mermaid.
11. Take blue glitter confetti and add some to the top of the sand and in various areas of the water. Let everything dry.
12. I added two more coats of Mod Podge to seal it and let everything completely dry.
13. I mixed 4 ounces of resin, but I think 5 would have been better and poured it over the canvas, making sure to move it to the edges with my stir stick. Pop bubbles with a lighter. Allow it to cure a minimum of 12 hours.
Now you have a beautiful art piece to hang on the wall!!
Thanks for stopping by! Remember: Life’s too short not to shimmer, so grab your glue gun and your glitter!™ Stay safe!
