To me there is nothing more boring than giving money. I understand why people prefer money, but it’s just so blah! So I tried to spice it up a little. Everyone LOOOVES cupcakes, so what could be better than money and a no calorie cupcake?!?!?!
I created this for my niece and purple and green happen to be her favorite colors, I love pink, she does not! So…..no pink. Sad face.
Since she has reached an age of wanting only money, this was my solution to dress it up. Now, think beyond just this single cupcake. Think bridal shower party favor or a little girls birthday party. The platter could be optional.
Let’s go back to the bridal party. You could match the cupcakes to the wedding colors and you could fill with wrapped candy or a note from the bride. How cute would these be at everyone’s place setting OR if you had them tiered as the centerpiece!!!
Now let’s think little girl birthday party. You could have the box as the favor, again some wrapped candy, or even an inexpensive little bracelet. FUN! FUN! FUN!
I put bugle beads on for the sprinkles, but if you use a regular hole punch and punch out multiple colors, you could have round sprinkles!
The possibilities are endless and I want to hear your ideas and what you would use them for!
This is a longer than average tutorial and all the parts are too hard to include in the written form (hard because I’m afraid I might leave parts out). I will list what you need, but I hope you watch the tutorial. It is a really easy craft, just multiple parts!

You will need:
– Small round paper mache box
– Unfinished wood candleholder
– Unfinished round wood plaque
– Unfinished wood bead – I suggest 3/4 inch
– Joint compound
– Acrylic paint in the colors of your choice
– Hot glue and other glue
– Beads
– Wire
– A washer or other wood disc
– Triple Thick and/or a thinner poly finish
