Summer is here! Transform your patio into a relaxing oasis with affordable chaise lounge beach chairs and chaise lounge pads.
This is a lakehouse update.
We have Adirondack furniture on our patio down by the lake. It has gone through many summers and winters and has seen better days.
A few years ago, we finally gave in and tossed the old wood chaise lounge that had been coming apart at the seams for way too long.
We were living in constant fear of possibly needing a tetanus shot from the random nails popping out or having to do emergency field surgery on piercing splinters.
It was time
We found we really missed having a chaise lounge, so we were ready to look for a couple of new ones.

We had two basic requirements for our purchase:
- Affordable
- Won’t rust
I was looking for something that would last for a while but neutral enough that if it lasted longer than we expected, it would go with any future patio furniture.
We realize the life expectancy of our current remaining furniture is shorter rather than longer.
Why Choose Chaise Lounge Beach Chairs?
According to Google, a frequently asked question is “What is the point of a chaise lounge?“
Very simply, for us, it’s a great place to take naps, soak up the sun, read a book, or just relax.
It keeps you outside in the fresh air longer, while you are sipping a cold drink, and lets you make the most of summer.
They are functional and add a bit of style to your outdoor space as well.
Choosing the Right Chaise Lounge Beach Chair
Selecting the right chaise lounge will probably vary for everyone. When selecting a chaise lounge beach chair, consider the following factors:
- Material: Look for durable materials that can withstand outdoor conditions. Popular options include aluminum, wood, composite, and resin wicker. Each material has its unique advantages, so choose one that fits your aesthetic and maintenance preferences.
- Comfort: Ensure the chaise lounge beach chair is comfortable to sit on for extended periods. You might want to give it the nap test.
- Style: Choose a design that complements your patio decor. Whether you prefer a modern, minimalist look, or a more traditional style, there’s a chaise lounge beach chair to suit your taste.
Our New Chaise Lounge Outdoor Additions
These are the chaise lounges we decided on. The color works great! They seem sturdy enough without being heavy.
Very easy to put together with each piece being coded. It literally took a couple minutes.
Ratings are good – 4.4 out of 5. We like the way they look! You can’t beat the price!
Will they last 10 years? Probably not, but for the price, you can’t expect that.
Benefits of Chaise Lounge Pads
I was really on the fence about getting chaise lounge pads. I love the look, the colors, and the comfort.
I hate that they get stained and eventually look unpleasant.
But…it’s kinda blah and gray down there…and who wants blah?
I wanted chaise lounge pads that were comfortable, gave the patio a fresh look and…fingers crossed…were easy to clean.
The other positive is you can easily replace the chaise lounge pads to give the patio a fresh and updated look whenever you want.
The Importance of Chaise Lounge Pads
Chaise lounge pads definitely up the comfort level of your outdoor furniture. Here are some tips for choosing the right pads:
- Material: Opt for weather-resistant fabrics that can handle exposure to sun, rain, and humidity.
- Thickness: Consider the thickness of the pad for optimal comfort. Thicker pads provide more cushioning but make sure they fit well on the chaise lounge. A poor fit is a bad fit.
- Design: Select a color and pattern that complements your outdoor space. They are available in a wide range of designs, so you can easily find one that matches your style.
The Chaise Lounge Pads We Selected
You can find the chaise lounge pads that we bought HERE. I’m a stickler for reading the reviews and they had 4.5 out of 5. They are water-repellant and fade-resistant. Both are good qualities.
Ours were put to the test within 10 minutes when a bird with a high berry diet was flying overhead, pooped right on our new cushions.
WHAT?!?!
It sat there for a while before I was able to clean it. A paper towel, some water, and Dawn and it cleaned right up!
*Before you comment, we need to do some repairs to the patio, so I’m not giving it a good clean until that is complete. And no, that blue house in the background is not ours.
Creating a Cozy Outdoor Space
We tend to work in stages and our ultimate goal is to create a welcoming and cozy outdoor space. Chaise lounge beach chairs and chaise lounge pads are just the beginning. Other things to consider incorporating:
- Umbrellas and Shade: In addition to shade and sun protection, an umbrella adds style and another opportunity for a pop of color. We don’t need one on our patio but I like the idea of adding more color.
- Outdoor Rugs: Add an outdoor rug to define your lounge area and add a touch of warmth and comfort underfoot. We have to do some patio repair but an outdoor rug would take it to the next level!
- Pillows and Throws: Enhance the comfort of your chaise lounge and other seating. Consider decorative pillows and throws. These accessories can easily be swapped out to update your patio’s look.
- Lighting: Create a relaxing ambiance with outdoor lighting. This one is high on my list of priorities. String lights, lanterns, or solar-powered lamps can add a magical touch to your patio during the evening hours. We have a lamp post that we replace with a solar topper but string lights bring the cozy!
Updating your patio doesn’t have to be expensive. With affordable chaise lounge beach chairs and chaise lounge pads, you can create a stylish and comfortable outdoor retreat.
